ÜGOT | The Ultimate Nutritious Brunch

Ever on the quest for a delicious new brunch spot, Joe and I recently stumbled upon ÜGOT on Instagram and knew that it would be right up our street (unfortunately not literally). Less than 48 hours later, we were sunning ourselves outside their little Harrogate store and pouring over their extensive menu, excited to sink our teeth into some delicious, wholesome food. If you're reading this and you're hungry then I apologise for how much hungrier the yummy photos to follow will probably make you...

I'm quite a "fussy" eater when we're out - I don't eat meat, I'm trying to completely eliminate dairy from my diet and I don't like food which makes me feel stodgy - so it can be quite difficult to find places that Joe and I can equally enjoy together. I don't really like enforcing my dietary requirements upon other people so it was great to find a place which have absolutely nailed their menu, catering for both the Awkward Foodie and the Eats Everything Foodie. It's packed full of healthy and nutritious breakfast/lunch options without compromising on taste or appearance (the interior is just as ~instagrammable~ as the food).  A lot of the menu is vegan & GF (or can easily be made vegan/GF with a few minor adjustments) and there's no additional charges for plant based milks in hot drinks either, which is quite a nice surprise after becoming used to paying a supplementary charge in a lot of coffee shops. Also, can we talk about how cute these mugs are?! I'm a sucker for ceramics and I love the mottled glaze that these have.

I opted to start my day with a Summer Shine Berry Goodness Bowl and a huge almond milk latte (my new love ♥). The smoothie bowl, which was generously topped with tangy blueberries, apple, coconut shavings, raspberries, strawberries and chia seeds wasn't overly sweet/sickly and was the perfect amount to fill me up without making me need to undo my belt. Joe followed suit with the smoothie bowl, as well as a Chicken & Sweet Potato salad and a fancy Earl Grey tea. The salad looked amazing - as well as the obvious ingredients it consisted of red pepper, chickpeas, pumpkin seeds, lollo rosso (fancy lettuce lol), dukka mint & smoked paprika yoghurt with a lemon wedge. They also serve a huge range of takeaway food, a rainbow of cold press juices and some very good lookin' cakes and muffins. MmmMmMmmMmmMMMMMm.

If you love yummy food and you're ever in Harrogate this is definitely a place to look out for! Although it's only a 30 minute train journey from Leeds city centre, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for a Leeds store soon...
